Difference Between Apple iPhone 4 and iPhone 5

Apple iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 are the
forth and fifth generation smartphones from Apple, (iPhone 5 is not

Apple iPhone 4 created a hype in the hand phone market when it was

phone makers have released dual core phones, 3D camera phones with 1 GB
RAM and packing many innovative ideas in to the phone. In that sense,
Apple’s new version should come with features that are exceeding the
user expectation to attract the users.

iPhone 4

Apple iPhones are still maintaining its
lead position in the global market with it handy design and attractive
display. iPhone 4 with its vivid 3.5″ high resolution Retina display on a
stainless steel frame and with the amazing UI captured the market
easily. Also, Apple was the first to integrate Skype Mobile in to iPhone
4. The iPhone 4′s first edition only supported GSM/UMTS network but not
CDMA. With the introduction of CDMA iPhone 4, Apple has got devices to
support all kinds of 3G networks. Globally Apple will have a larger
market share now.

The GSM iPhone 4 is actually the first
edition of iPhone 4 designed for global market that supports the 3G

networks GSM and EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz).

For the US market it was tied up with the carrier AT&T.

The CDMA iPhone 4 has the same features
as GSM iPhone 4, the differentiation is the network support. Apple has
designed the device to support CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900 MHz). This
was actually designed to cater to the immediate demand of the Verizon’s
93 million customer base. However, it is not an exclusive tie up with
Verizon, the device can be used in other CDMA networks also.

The other important feature of CDMA
iPhone is the mobile hotspot, which was not available in the GSM model.
The CDMA model can act as the wi-fi hotspot to connect up to 5 wi-fi
enabled devices.

iPhone5

The apple customers were craving long
for a superior device to come out from Apple and in their minds they
have already named it as iPhone 5. They match the device with some of
the 4G devices released in Las Vegas during CES 2011. However Apple is
waiting for the 4G technology to mature. Apple does not want to
compromise on their design with the technology that is still evolving
and also not available in many parts of the world.

Apple may take its own time and come out
with an entirely new device, it can be Q3 2011 or even 2012. Until then
iPhone 5 will live only in the minds of Apple customers.

Apple’s introduction of CDMA iPhone 4
without introducing 4G LTE device is seen by market viewers as a wise
move. With the introduction of CDMA handset, Apple can pull CDMA network
customers also in to iPhone user group. Anyhow all the service
providers will eventually move in to 4G LTE network in time to come.
Thus after gaining a stronger market hold in 3G, if Apple introduce the
LTE device it will have readily available customer base for the new
device.

In the same sense the rumor about the
iPhone with sliding keypad can be considered. There were Rumours saying
that Apple iPhone 5 is coming with sliding keypad. There are
possibilities for Apple to introduce an iphone 4 new editon to attract
another set of untouched market so that it’s easy to move them in to
Apple 4G LTE phones, when it arrives. One of those possibility is to get
users who still prefer the physical QWERTY keypad phones, like
Blackberry phones.
